Alpenfest Tour 2007 |

Friday, June 8, 2007 & June 22, 2007 We will arrive in the new Munich airport and be greeted by our skillful and lovable bus driver, Hansi. Hansi has safely escorted Alpenfest Tours on each of the past 20 tours. We will board a luxurious Mercedes bus and travel to the quaint village of Werfen. We will have the afternoon free in Werfen to relax or explore the town. |

Thursday, June 7, 2007 & June 21, 2007 The tour departs to Munich, Germany. On board the flight you will be treated to complimentary meals, drinks and a movie. |

Saturday, June 9, 2007 and June 23, 2007 One of the highlights of the tour will be a quiet ride across the beautiful Königssee lake. Our boat ride will pause briefly and you will be captivated by the glorious resonance of an Alphorn performed in the Alps. Along the shores of the Königssee, we will have time to visit the picturesque St. Bartolomä Chapel and take a leisurely stroll around the grounds. Later In Hallein we will see what has made this area of Austria famous—SALT. Dressed in white miner's clothing, we will descend into a salt mine by train and slides, where a guide will explain the history of salt and mining. |

Sunday, June 10, 2007 & June 24, 2007 Herrenchiemsee is the first of three King Ludwig II castles that we will visit during the tour. Herrenchiemsee is the largest of the castles built by King Ludwig II and is located on an island. You will be treated to a short, but pleasant boat ride across the Herrenchiemsee lake to tour the castle. Later in the day, we will visit the famous chapel in Oberndorf, Austria where Silent Night was written and first performed. |

Monday, June 11, 2007 and June 25, 2007 The most famous city in the Austrian Alps is Salzburg. We will have plenty of free time in Salzburg and you can choose what to see. You may want to tour Mozart's birth house or museum. You may choose to meander through the Mirabel Gardens, take a Sound of Music Tour, or even trek up to the Hohensalzburg Castle. Later in the day, we will attend a performance at the world famous Salzburg Marionette Theatre. The operas, operettas and ballets performed on stage by marionettes never fail to enchant audiences. |

Tuesday, June 12, 2007 and June 26, 2007 Our morning adventure will take us up to Kehlsteinhaus. This historical house was famous during World War II as the Eagle's Nest. In the afternoon, we will have time for shopping and site seeing in Berchtesgaden. |

Wednesday, June 13, 2007 & June 27, 2007 The trip to Northern Italy is exceptionally scenic and enjoyable. The divine beauty of the landscape comes along with the richness of historic and artistic treasures. There are interesting towns and villages along the picturesque road following the valley all the way from the Austrian border. Upon arrival, you will have the afternoon free to unpack, rest and discover your surroundings. |
